Front shock absorber mount welds recall
Manufacturer recallRecall (US campaign 22LA02) on 2022 NX models built from April 2021 to January 2022, including the 350h and 450h+: spot welds around the front shock absorber mounts may have been omitted at the factory, which can cause the shock absorber to come loose and affect stability. Inspection and replacement of the panel are free of charge. This recall is documented in the United States: check with a Lexus dealer whether it concerns the serial number of a car sold in France.
Fixed free of charge by a dealer and not counted in the reliability score: ask for proof the work was done (invoice, or a VIN check at a dealer).

Pre-collision camera recall
Manufacturer recallLexus recall covering NX models assembled between 15 April 2021 and 6 March 2023 (2,085 units of the 350h and 450h+ in France): a software fault in the camera can erase its memory when the ignition is off and prevent the pre-collision system from starting at the next start-up. Remedy: reprogramming of the camera in the workshop (about 45 minutes).
Fixed free of charge by a dealer and not counted in the reliability score: ask for proof the work was done (invoice, or a VIN check at a dealer).

Things to check
- Have a Lexus dealer check, using the serial number, that the pre-collision camera recall has been carried out.
- Ask whether the car is affected by the front shock absorber mount weld recall (NX built from April 2021 to January 2022) and whether the check has been done.
- Test the 12 V battery and the cold start after a night standing.
- Check that the driver assistance systems (pre-collision braking) show no warning lights or alerts on the dashboard.
- 450h+: ask for the charging cable and test charging from a socket or a charging station.
Questions to ask the seller
- Has the pre-collision camera recall been carried out? Do you have proof from the dealer?
- Has the check on the front shock absorber mount welds been done, if the car is affected?
- Has the 12 V battery already been replaced, or has the car ever refused to start?
Test-drive tip: read the fault codes
A warning light that is off proves nothing: a fault may have been cleared just before the viewing. A Bluetooth OBD2 scanner, plugged in under the steering wheel and read on your phone, shows stored codes and whether all emissions readiness tests have run since the last reset.
