Verdict
999 cc turbocharged three-cylinder with a timing chain, launched on the Clio V in 2019 and then fitted to the Captur II, Sandero III and Duster (90 and 100 hp, with indirect injection), as well as in an ECO-G 100 LPG bi-fuel version at Dacia; a 115 hp direct-injection version was fitted to the Mégane IV from 2021. Fiches-auto knows of no serious defect, but hindsight remains limited and the variable valve timing is a point to watch over time. The most frequently reported defect is a metallic rattle from the turbo wastegate, annoying but considered harmless.

Metallic wastegate rattle (turbo)
Severity 1/3 · AnnoyingMany owners of the Sandero III 1.0 TCe 90 describe a metallic rattle at around 1,000 to 2,000 rpm, attributed to play in the turbo wastegate control rod, with no fix provided by the manufacturer according to them. Car Checker lists it as the most frequent complaint on the Sandero III and considers it mainly annoying, without mechanical danger in most cases; Car Verif places it at around 40,000 to 60,000 km and L'argus cites a noisy turbo among the weak points of the Clio V.
