Hybride 140

  1. Digital instrument cluster switching off (recall)

    Manufacturer recall

Toyota recalled more than 80,000 vehicles in France, including the C-HR built between 3 October 2022 and 22 April 2025, for a fault in the 12.3-inch instrument cluster: the software stores too much data in memory and the display can eventually stop lighting up, with no speed reading and no warning lights (L'argus, La Voiture). The fix is a free software update; on the plug-in hybrid C-HR, an inspection comes first and the cluster may have to be replaced (L'argus, La Voiture).

Fixed free of charge by a dealer and not counted in the reliability score: ask for proof the work was done (invoice, or a VIN check at a dealer).

  2. 12 V battery discharging

    Severity 1/3 · Annoying

Owners of 2024 C-HRs report a flat 12 V battery preventing the car from starting, particularly after several weeks of standing, resolved by recharging or replacing the battery (C-HR Forums UK, Toyota Owners Club, plug-in hybrid version included). Fiches-auto also cites the 12 V battery among the most frequent C-HR problems, noting that the battery itself is not always the cause.

Price and diagnose repairs

Read fault codes

An OBD scanner plugged in under the steering wheel shows stored fault codes, even with warning lights off: useful during the test drive.
