1.4 Turbo 140

  1. Takata driver airbag (recall)

    Manufacturer recall

In June 2024 Opel launched a recall campaign for around 25,000 first-generation Mokka built from 2012 to 2015 in France, to replace the Takata driver airbag. The replacement is free at the dealer and takes about twenty minutes; the campaign was later extended to more than 53,000 Mokka, Astra and Vectra. Check with the serial number that the airbag has been replaced.

Fixed free of charge by a dealer and not counted in the reliability score: ask for proof the work was done (invoice, or a VIN check at a dealer).

  2. Cooling system leaks (expansion tank, water pump)

    Severity 1/3 · Annoying

Mokka owners report a cracked expansion tank (coolant reservoir) with repeated leaks, sometimes followed by a water pump replacement. On the 1.4 Turbo, users describe the water pump as a weak point. An untreated leak can cause overheating.
