Our conclusion
The Captur II clearly wins on reliability: 5/5, with only electronic bugs, often fixed by a software update, against 2/5 for the 2008 II, which shares the 208's engines and their serious faults (timing belt and oil consumption on the 1.2 PureTech, timing chain on the 1.5 BlueHDi). It also earned 5 stars at Euro NCAP in 2019, against 4 for the 2008 in base trim. The boot sizes are close (422 L for the petrol Captur with the rear bench pushed back, 405 L for the 2008). Our advice: the Captur.
