Our conclusion
On mechanicals, the Sandero III is markedly more reassuring: a reliability rating of 4.5/5 and only minor electronic faults, against 2/5 for the 208 II and the serious faults of its 1.2 PureTech and 1.5 BlueHDi engines. The 208 is better protected (4 stars at Euro NCAP in 2019, against 2 for the Sandero in 2021), but its boot is smaller (265 L against 328 L). If you choose the 208, insist on a complete service history and check the recalls.
