Recall: battery negative terminal improperly tightened (fire risk)
Manufacturer recallA European recall (Safety Gate) targets Fiat 500e and Abarth 500e cars: a nut or clamp on the negative terminal, inside the battery, may be loosely tightened, move, and cause electrical arcing and overheating, with a risk of fire. For the Abarth, cars produced up to 24 January 2024 are affected. The French press refers to the “Abarth 500”, and ItalPassion explicitly names the Abarth 500e: have the serial number checked.
Fixed free of charge by a dealer and not counted in the reliability score: ask for proof the work was done (invoice, or a VIN check at a dealer).
