Our conclusion
Two electric city cars with similar weak points: the on-board charger of early versions, and a major recall for each (high-voltage cut-off while driving on the e-208, parking-lock shaft on the Zoe). The e-208 earns a slightly better reliability score (3.5/5 against 3/5). Safety sets them clearly apart: 4 Euro NCAP stars for the e-208, none for the facelifted Zoe tested in 2021. The Zoe offers the larger boot (338 L against 265 L); on Zoes built before 2021, check whether the battery is leased or bought outright.
